random self shot from 1st july 2015.
the good news is, i’m definitely healing, and i’m still healing.
the bad news is, i will still have to go through a few cycles before my skin becomes more stable. natural healing is a series of ups and downs, so i have to mentally prepare myself for that.
based on my recent observations, my “flares” are no longer as serious as those in march. i don’t ooze anymore, and my sleep is a lot better than before too, even though i still wake at least once a night.
i get a few days of calmer skin after a few days of irritated skin. at least there’s something i can look forward to during the tougher times. my skin still gets rashy, but the areas are much smaller now, and they improve within days.
my doctor and i are extremely happy at the results, it’s only been a little more than 3 months since i started TCM. once we figured out the correct treatment for my body, things started improving more rapidly.
i know for sure that the TCM is lending a hand in my recovery from eczema this time because the rashes on my sole, which i’ve had for 2+ years (and did not clear away on its own) is finally showing signs of leaving.
my energy is still quite low, and i still have some aches around my body which i foresee them disappearing once my health is back on track.
after reading much about TCM, i realize eczema is merely a state of ill-health, hence the only way to prevent it from coming back is to be healthy. there’re so many ways things can go wrong, but there’s only one state that is right, and that is good health. on my own, i’ve been doing and eating a lot of healthy stuff too, so they probably contributed a little to my recovery as well.
since the body is so intricate, all factors come into play. it’s all part of a complicated cycle. my current understanding is this: if you do want to kick start your health, start from nutrition. it’s a little like war, if you do not have enough food to feed your soldiers, you’re bound for failure. good nutrition also means you must make sure your body is digesting and absorbing the nutrients well, otherwise all is wasted. so it all boils down to gut health.
for those of you who’re trying to heal eczema (post TSW or not), there’s really no harm in trying to improve gut health because it is the foundation for health. without it, you can’t go far.
i’m still basking in gratitude because i managed to make it in time for my best friend’s wedding. she was so happy i can be there too!
what’s most amazing is, just a week ago my skin was still pretty shitty, i could never have survived being outside because my body was dry everywhere. then this happened 🙂 after those skin shed, things felt a lot better very quickly.
thank god for everything!
stay strong everybody!!! 😀 there’s always hope.
